Libby is the newer library reading app by OverDrive.  It can be accessed on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer as well as on many Kobo e-readers.  With it, you can borrow eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, and more for FREE.  To get started, all you need to do is download the app and sign in using your Assiginack Public Library card number.  Just ask for your library card number at the main desk.

 

As we are a small library, we belong to a consortium of public libraries in Ontario organized by the Ontario Library Service.  The consortium purchases books for the collection which is then shared by the member libraries.  This allows Assiginack users to access a far greater variety of books than our little library could purchase on its own.  In fact, we currently have access to over 70,755 ebook titles (some with multiple copies, totalling almost 95,000 in total) and 19,030 audiobook titles (almost 30,000 copies)...and new items are added regularly.
